A method, apparatus and terminal for controlling page loading progress, the method comprising: obtaining a loading status signal reported by a browser during the process of loading a current page; after a page loading starting signal in the loading status signal is obtained, detecting whether the loading of the primary resource content of the current page is already completed, so as to obtain a first detection result; when the first detection result indicates that loading of the primary resource content of the current page is already completed, initiating a timer the timing length of which is a first time threshold, wherein the first time threshold is inversely proportional to a speed at which the current page is loaded; and when the timing length of the timer is met, stopping loading the sub-resource content of the current page, and controlling a progress bar of the browser to show that the loading progress is already completed. As a consequence, such a problem can be avoided that users feel that page loading is unacceptably slow because the progress bar does not disappear even after a prolonged presence of the page content, and user experience is modified as well. |
