PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facility retrieval apparatus and method capable of displaying example of utterance familiar to a user when the speech of the address is input.SOLUTION: An in-vehicle apparatus 1 includes a microphone 22 for inputting the voice uttered by the user, an utterance example providing unit 58 to provide an example of utterance to the user prior to the voice input using the microphone 22, a hard disk apparatus 70 to store registration information to be registered and updated in response to the operation of the user that is the registration information containing the address itself or individual information capable of specifying the address, and an utterance example setting unit 57 to read out the registration address stored in the hard disk 70 and to set an address corresponding to this registration information as an example of utterance.
