<p>Provided is a maleimide copolymer having a sufficient dissolution speed in an alkaline solution and a narrow molecular weight distribution, and also provided is a method for producing the maleimide copolymer. A maleimide copolymer having a molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) of 1.01 to 2.00 and a sufficient dissolution speed in an alkaline solution can be produced by radical copolymerization of a maleimide monomer represented by formula (IV) and at least one selected from the group consisting of a styrene monomer represented by formula (V) and a (meth)acrylic acid monomer represented by formula (IV) in the presence of a reversible addition fragmentation chain transfer agent (RAFT).</p> |
