<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more accurately correct the skew of sheet or the like. <P>SOLUTION: As shown in Fig.(a), sheet P is fist carried by a third transport roll 46, Then, the rotating drive of a driving roll 702 is started and the movement of an abutting member 300 is started. Then, as shown in Figs.(b), (c), the tip of the sheet P contacts with the outer peripheral face of a belt 704, and the tip is guided by the outer peripheral face of the belt 704. Furthermore, the tip of the sheet P abuts on the abutting member 300, and the carriage of the sheet P is continued in this state.
