The arrangement has two communication units (KE1,KE2) as signal emitters and signal receivers, and a power supply grid, through which the data is transmitted between the communication units by a data signal. Each communication unit has a signal reference potential (S1,S2), and a connection (V1,V2) is provided between each signal reference potential and a protective grounding conductor (PE) of the power supply grid.
