The pump (100) comprises a pump chamber (130) having an inlet opening (170) and an outlet opening (190). A movable component (150) is provided, which is arranged partially in the pump chamber in a movable manner and is adapted to receive an amount of the medium, which is supplied into the pump chamber from the inlet opening to the outlet opening. A ventilation unit (210) is formed, such that the negative pressure in the pump chamber is temporarily reduced. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a lubricating system for discharging an amount of a lubricant by a machine element; and (2) a method for conveying a medium, particularly lubricant.
