PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium secondary battery in which a short circuit caused by dendrites is excellently prevented.SOLUTION: A lithium secondary battery of the present invention includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode 10, and a separator 40 intervening between the positive electrode and the negative electrode 10, and further includes a porous insulating layer 50 disposed between the separator 40 and at least one of the positive electrode 20 and the negative electrode 10. The porous insulating layer 50 contains a low-absorbency inorganic filler 58 with relatively low lithium absorbency, and a high-absorbency inorganic filler 56 with relatively high lithium absorbency. An electrode-side surface portion 54 of the porous insulating layer 50 in contact with the electrode 10 is composed of the low-absorbency inorganic filler 58, and the high-absorbency inorganic filler is concentrated in a separator-side portion of the porous insulating layer from which the electrode-side surface portion is excluded. |
