<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a one-end blocked type tubular flame burner constituted to be compact and prevented from being deformed or burned by overheating of the blocked side end of the burner. <P>SOLUTION: The one-end blocked type tubular flame burner includes a cylindrical combustion chamber N with one end blocked with an end plate 40 and with the other end opened in an opening provided in a front flange 50. The side face of the cylindrical combustion chamber N is provided with air slits 22s and gas slits 32s opened along a tube axis direction (Y direction), and fuel gas and air are eccentrically introduced in the tangential direction of the sidewall of the combustion chamber N individually from the air slits 22s and gas slits 32s to carry out swirling combustion. In the one-end blocked type tubular flame burner of such constitution, air or lean mixture of combustion limit concentration or less is introduced into the closed side end in the tube axis direction in the combustion chamber N.
