<p>A broad spectrum biocidal composition having residual biocidal activity comprises an aqueous solution of:a chlorhexidine salt;a C8-C16 alkyl dimethylbenzyl ammonium halide;a C8-C16 dialkyl dimethylammonium halide; and an acid to balance the pH of the solution. The chlorhexidine salt may be chlorhexidine gluconate. The composition may be further comprise an amphoteric surfactant, such as an alkyl dimethyl betaine, and a sequestering agent, e.g. EDTA. The acid may be citric acid. The composition may additionally include poly(hexamethylene biguanide) hydrochloride. Also claimed is a biocidal wipe impregnated with the composition.</p> |
