摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of machining a trunnion of a toroidal continuously variable transmission, capable of minimizing variations of interaxial eccentricity between a power roller and a trunnion assembly at low cost without using a highly accurate machine, and to provide the trunnion formed by the method.SOLUTION: The trunnion machining method includes: a cutting step of cutting the trunnion from a predetermined material; an eccentric center hole forming step of forming a first center hole 102 while being positioned on a shaft center O" of an eccentric shaft 16 at both end surfaces of the eccentric shaft 16, respectively; a pivot center hole forming step of forming a second center hole 105 while being positioned on a shaft center O' of a pivot 14 at both end surfaces of the pivot 14, respectively; an eccentric grinding step of grinding the eccentric shaft 16, while supporting the eccentric shaft 16 from both sides using the first center hole 102 as a fulcrum; and a pivot grinding step of grinding the pivot 14 while supporting the pivot 14 from both sides using the second center hole 105 as the fulcrum.
