<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance solubility (dissolution properties) of solid wood-based raw materials including cellulose, hemicellulose, lignin, lignocellulose, etc., and to improve heat stability of wood-based solubilized products and wood-based pitch obtained. <P>SOLUTION: The wood-based solubilized products are obtained by performing pressure heating of the solid wood-based raw materials including at least one selected from cellulose, hemicellulose, lignin, and lignocellulose in the presence of phenols and a hydrogen donor solvent. The wood-based pitch is obtained by removing a low-boiling point component from the wood-based solubilized product obtained after the pressure heating.
