The manner of determining the morphology of cokes and chars consists in analyzing the microscopic microsections of coke from one microscopic view with the preferable magnification of 100x, in reflected light. At first a binary black and white image is created, of the largest surface possible, by increasing the contrast between the solid phase of the coked substance and the cross-section of pores, and then there are created the images with strengthened anisotropic effect in polarized light with a retardation plate or interference-differential contrast, increasing the magnification multiple times, preferably 5 times. In turn, based on the images with strengthened anisotropic effect, there are determined the grey color gradient vectors within the area of the isolated textures, and the respective fibrosity indices are calculated, and then the average index is calculated in the form of one dimensionless value on the basis of the linear additivity law, taking into account the weight in the form of volumetric shares, determined through prior quantitative analysis of textures. The fractal dimensions are determined both based on binary images and on the images with the strengthened anisotropic effect. |
