<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle control device having a simple and inexpensive configuration and capable of carefully, smoothly and conveniently achieving economical fuel-saving traveling (economy running) reducing fuel consumption. <P>SOLUTION: In the vehicle control device for achieving fuel-saving traveling of a vehicle, when economy running control to achieve fuel-saving traveling of the vehicle is performed, an actual accelerator opening based on actual operation of an accelerator pedal by a driver is acquired, and an economy running accelerator opening to achieve fuel-saving traveling is set by putting limitation on the acquired actual accelerator opening. In accordance with the economy running accelerator opening, the economy running control is performed. Whether or not traveling at a shift-up accelerator opening which is an accelerator opening for shifting up a transmission is possible is determined, and when it is determined that such traveling is possible, the economy running is performed in accordance with the shift-up accelerator opening. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
