A fairing disc comprises an outer trim-ring 221, covering the side of the wheel-rim, and an inner annular portion 222 provided with ventilating apertures or louvres 225 for causing air currents to cool the brake drum 21, the parts 221, 222 having interengaging and united rearwardly extending hooked edges 223, 224, at their inner and outer peripheries respectively, which are pulled into the operative position of the device by strainers 25 abutting the axially inner face of the wheel. The louvres 225 are formed by depressing and raising the metal on opposite sides respectively of a slit and are located to coincide with ventilating openings 203 in the wheel disc, and may open forwardly or rearwardly. The strainers 25 are worm-actuated and are as described in Specification 661,900, [Group XXV]. Specifications 656,432 and 733,426 also are referred to.
