<p>Hydrogen peroxide is produced by the successive reduction and oxidation of an anthraquinone in a solvent medium consisting of a mixture of an aliphatic ester of a cyclohexanol or an alkyl cyclohexanol and one or more alkyl benzenes. The anthraquinone may be ethyl or butyl anthraquinone. The cyclohexanol ester may be the acetic or propionic acid ester of cyclohexanol or methyl cyclohexanol. The alkyl benzene may be a xylene or a trimethyl benzene. In the examples equal volumes of cyclohexanol ester and alkyl benzene are employed.
