<p>A gamma detector comprises a plastic scintillation body (PVT and fluor loaded PVK given as examples) in the form of a truncated cone or pyramid defined by a base surface and an end surface separated along an axis with a tapering lateral surface in between. A specular reflector is provided adjacent, but separated from, the lateral surface of the scintillation body. The detector may be used in a spectrometer.</p> |
