Provided is a mobile terminal comprising: a terminal body forming a display unit on one surface; a cover combined with the terminal body to be converted into a closed condition which covers the display unit or an opened condition which exposes the display unit, and having at least one magnet causing magnetic change according to conversion of the closed and opened condition; a sensor unit arranged to correspond to the magnet in the terminal body, and formed to sense the magnetic change; and a control unit controlling the display unit to output screen information related to a predetermined application by the magnetic change of at least one magnet.
