A local oscillator circuit and a corresponding method are provided. The local oscillator circuit includes a memory connected to a processor. The memory is configured to store local oscillator parameters corresponding to a plurality of center frequencies of a frequency spectrum. The processor is configured to apply the stored LO parameters when switching the frequency spectrum for a mixed-mode spectrum communication. The local oscillator also includes a plurality of registers connected with the processor, the plurality of registers configured to control switching of the frequency spectrum.

1. A circuit, comprising:
a memory configured to store local oscillator (LO) parameters corresponding to achieving different center frequencies of a frequency spectrum under different ambient conditions of the circuit; a processor in communication with the memory, the processor configured to retrieve selected LO parameters from the memory and apply the selected LO parameters when switching the frequency spectrum for a mixed-mode spectrum communication; and a register in communication with the processor, the register configured to control the switching of the frequency spectrum between different transmission modes, where the register is configured to apply the selected LO parameters to the LO synchronously with an internal clock within an interframe gap, and a phase lock loop (PLL) connected with the LO and configured to generate multiple different center frequencies of the frequency spectrum according to the LO parameters, where the LO parameters are applicable across a predetermined ambient temperature range over which the circuit operates.
