<p>The present invention provides an apparatus for cutting off a weld bead (15) protruding from an outer surface of a welded butt splice of a steel pipe (10). The apparatus for cutting off a bead on a welded steel pipe comprises: a main body (20) having a transport roller (25) on a base frame (21) to move a steel pipe (10) towards a cutting frame (22); a vertically moving means (30) disposed on the cutting frame (22) to vertically move a lifting part (31); a cutting means (40) to dispose a tool part (41) on the vertically moving means (30) to support a cutter (45), and cut a protruding weld bead (15) with the cutter (45); a guide means (50) to support a guide roller (55) at a location near the cutter (45), and restrain shaking of the weld bead (15) with the guide roller (55); and a control means (60) having a control device (62) to control a movement of the steel pipe (10) and the cutter (45) according to a prescribed algorithm. The tool part (41) of the cutting means (40) disposes a side motor (37) on the vertically moving means (30) to allow the cutter (45) to move in an axial direction. Accordingly, the bead protruding from the outer surface of the welded butt splice of the steel pipe can be quickly removed. Even when dimensions of a steel pipe are changed, a bead location can be accurately followed to reduce man-hours and improve coating quality.</p> |
