<p>The invention relates to a cutting tool, more particularly to a monobloc carbide cutter (2) comprising a rod (6) shrunk within the body (4) of the cutter (2) and extending to the so-called front end of the cutter having cutting edges (8). The shrunken bar (6) enables bending vibrations to be damped through friction. Each cutting edge (8) is formed directly and continuously from the material of the rod (6) and the material of the body (4) As those parts of the cutting edges formed in the material of the rod (6) rotate at lower speeds than those parts formed in the material of the body (4), the material of the bar can have cutting speed performance lower than that of the material of the body.</p> |
