The present invention relates to a charcoal roaster wherein a food is barbecued for eating using charcoals. In particular, the invention is small-sized, a food for roasting is automatically rotated and thus cooked evenly, a heat insulation is maintained inside the charcoal roaster and thus a food can be cooked faster even with less fuel, thereby reducing consumption of fuel. To this end, the present invention comprises a leg portion and a main body, a main body has an inner space with an opened upper portion, a charcoal container is mounted in an inner space of the main body, a refractory material is filled in a space formed between an inner wall of the main body and the charcoal container such that a heat does not escape outside and a heat insulation is maintained, a cover, which is foldable, is provided at an upper edge of the main body, an inwardly formed groove is formed on the other upper edge of the main body, a skewer rod to which a food is skewed is seated in the inwardly formed groove, the skewer rod seated in the inwardly formed grove is connected to a drive gear and a worm gear in a shape, the drive gear is connected to a drive motor through a connection chain such that an operation of the drive motor starts off a rotation of the drive gear, which simultaneously starts off a rotation of the skewer rod such that a food for roasting is cooked evenly, and an ash container, which can be put into and taken out, is provided in a lower portion of the main body such that ashes falling down, as charcoals burn, can be easily discharged outside.
