FIELD: chemistry.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to pyridincarboxylic acids and their esters and to application of said compounds as herbicides. Claimed is compound of formula, in which A is selected from nitrogen and CR; each Ris independently selected from C-Calkyl, C-Ccycloalkyl and hydroxy (Rgroups can be optionally equivalent); Ris selected from C-Calkyl, C-Ccycloalkyl, C-Chalogenalkyl, C-Chalogencycloalkyl, and formula, in which Wis selected from hydrogen and fluorine; Xis selected from hydrogen, halogen, C-Calkyl, C-Calkenyl, C-Calkinyl, C-Calkoxy, C-Calkoxyalkyl, C-Calkylcarbonyl, C-Calkenyloxy, C-Calkinyloxy, C-Chalogenalkyl, C-Chalogenalkenyl, C-Chalogenalkinyl, C-Chalogenalkoxy, C-Chalogenalkoxyalkyl, C-Chalogenalkylcarbonyl, C-Ctrialkylsilyl, C-Chalogenalkenyloxy, C-Chalogenalkinyloxy, and -N(R); Yis selected from hydrogen, halogen, C-Calkyl, C-Chalogenalkyl, C-Calkoxy, C-Chalogenalkoxy, Zis selected from hydrogen and fluorine; and in which, when Xand Yare selected from the group, consisting of -O(CH)CH- or -O(CH)O-, n=1 or 2; Rand Rrepresents hydrogen; Ris selected from hydrogen, fluorine and chlorine; Ris selected from hydrogen, fluorine, chlorine, C-Calkyland C-Chalogenalkyl; and Ris selected from hydrogen, C-Calkyl and C-Chalogenalkyl, with said compound being compound in form of free acid, ester or salt, acceptable for agricultural purposes.
