According to an embodiment of the present invention, a method for setting communication environment of an electronic device includes the steps of: selecting two or more from a plurality of user identification information included in one subscriber identity module (SIM) by sensing user input; and determining each communication environment to correspond to two or more user identification information. Each communication environment is loaded with the electronic device. Other embodiments of a method for operating an electronic device are possible in the same or similar range of the present invention.
