PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting tool (1) which is excellent in chip treatability and deposition resistance.SOLUTION: A cutting tool (1) contains a hard sintered body (4) at least at blade top, has a cutting face (2) and a flank (3), the cutting face (2) has a chip breaker (5) of a protruded or rugged shape, the hard sintered body (4) contains cubic boron nitride of 20 vol% or more, a region of 20 μm or less from the surface of the hard sintered body (4) of the cutting face side contains A structure made of cubic boron nitride and B structure made of at least one kind selected from a group consisting of hexagonal boron nitride, amorphous boron nitride and boron oxide and a volume ratio of B structure to the sum of A structure and B structure, B/(A+B) is a proportion of 5 to 90 vol%. |
