PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve both the atomization of strontium ferrite used as magnetic powder for magnetic recording and the improvement in the uniformity of particle sizes.SOLUTION: The magnetic powder for magnetic recording is magnetoplumbite type hexagonal strontium ferrite magnetic powder which has an average particles size in the range of 10-25 nm, and contains Ba 1-5 atom% relative to Fe 100 atom%.
