PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent element in which, even if the film thickness of a light-emitting layer is increased, a reduction in emission luminance and an increase in driving voltage are suppressed and also the occurrence of luminance unevenness is suppressed.SOLUTION: An organic electroluminescent element (100) according to the present invention includes, on a substrate (1), a pair of electrodes (an anode (2) and a cathode (8)) and an organic functional layer (20) having at least an electron transport layer (6) and a light-emitting layer (5). The electron transport layer (6) contains at least an electron transport material and semiconductor nanoparticles (11), and the energy level of a conduction band of the semiconductor nanoparticles (11) is higher than the LUMO level of the electron transport material. |
