The present invention relates to the field of communications. Provided in an embodiment of the present invention are a network controller, site and method for establishing a protection period so as to reduce overhead in establishing the protection period and reduce interference. The network controller comprises: an acquisition unit for acquiring the scheduling information of the network controller adjacent to a first network controller; a determination unit for determining the time and frequency overlapping between a first SP and other access periods; a scheduling unit for setting the protection period configuration information of the first SP according to the interference condition of the first SP and the overlapping condition determined by the determination unit, the protection period configuration information comprising the first instruction information or second instruction information, the first instruction information being used to inform that the protection period must be established for the first SP, and the second instruction information being used to inform that the protection period is allowed to be established for the first SP; and a first transmission unit for transmitting to a site the protection period configuration information of the first SP, so that the site determines whether to establish a protection period for the first SP. |
