R&D Centre, Wagga Wagga, NSW 2650, Australia. b School of Biomedical Science, Charles Sturt University, Wagga Wagga, NSW, Australia. *Corresponding Author: hossain_238@yahoo com, kamal @ vetafarn.com.au Abstract The present invention relates to the development and toxicity assessment of stable pharmaceutical sterile compositions of doxycycline in solution, together with the method for obtaining them, and their use for manufacturing a drug for companion birds for the prevention and/or treatment of conditions in which doxycycline has been shown to be effective. The formulations of the present invention use, as the method of stabilisation, the incorporation of dehydrating agents or mixtures thereof in acceptable proportions together with other pharmaceutical excipients and sterilisation by autoclave and the toxicity assessment on companion birds more specifically on budgerigars (Melopsittacus undulatus).
