PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer and a printing method capable of preventing sheet run-out during printing, while eliminating wasteful use of sheets.SOLUTION: A sheet residual amount table storage unit 201 stores a residual amount of a roll-state sheet. A printing unit 401 prints printing data to the sheet. A data calculation processing unit 200 calculates printing length of the printing data. The data calculation processing unit 200 determines whether whole printing data can be printed to the sheet or not, based on the calculated printing length and the residual amount of the sheet stored in the sheet residual amount table storage unit 201. |
