1. A method for recovering hydrocarbon from a subsurface formation, the method comprising the steps of:
a. drilling at least one well into the formation adjacent the hydrocarbon; b. positioning at least one antenna in the at least one well, the at least one antenna operable over a wide frequency bandwidth; c. emitting electromagnetic energy from the at least one antenna into the formation; d. allowing the electromagnetic energy to heat the hydrocarbon and reduce the viscosity of the hydrocarbon; and e. producing the heated hydrocarbon to surface. |
