An electro-static discharge (ESD) protection circuit, comprising a thin film transistor; a first electrode of the thin film transistor is electrically connected to a first signal transmission line to be protected; and the tip of a second electrode of the thin film transistor is spaced a protecting distance from a second signal transmission line providing protection. When static charges accumulated on the first signal transmission line cause the voltage on the second electrode to exceed the voltage range of the electrical signals transmitted on the first signal transmission line, the protecting distance enables the second electrode to be electrically connected to the second signal transmission through electrostatic breakdown, releasing the static charges from the first signal transmission line to the second signal transmission line via the conductive thin film transistor.
