PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor light source device which is excellent in color rendering and which requires less number of manufacturing processes and suitable for mass production.SOLUTION: A semiconductor light source device (10) comprises a first LED element (11) and a second LED element (12) on a device substrate (13). The first LED element includes a growth substrate (111) and by being mounted on the device substrate via the growth substrate, a luminescent layer (114) of the first LED element is located at a position higher than a top face (light extraction surface 12a) of the second LED element with respect to the device substrate. The second LED element is coated with a wavelength conversion member. By creating such a difference in height between the first and second LED elements, the wavelength conversion member is prevented from adhering to a top face of the higher first LED element. |
