A method for operating a display device according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises the steps of: reproducing a broadcast program; identifying a user's viewing status while the broadcast program is being reproduced; and providing information on the display device when the identified user's viewing status is determined to be a non-visual viewing status showing that the user is not looking at the display unit of the display device. |
