PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical waveguide that suppresses degradation in transmission characteristics and can perform high-quality optical communications, and electronic equipment including the optical waveguide.SOLUTION: An optical waveguide 1 includes a core layer 13 where a core 14 is formed, a first clad layer 11 laminated on one surface of the core layer 13, a second clad layer 12 laminated on the other surface of the core layer 13, and a recess (cavity) 170 that penetrates each of the second clad layer 12 and the core layer 13 and reaches the first clad layer 11. A part of an inner wall surface of the recess 170 is composed of inclined surfaces 171, 172 intersecting and inclined with respect to a plane that includes an interface between the core layer 13 and the first clad layer 11. In the plane, a minimum radius of curvature in a connecting portion between the inclined surfaces 171, 172 and other portions (vertical surface 173, 174) of the inner wall surface continued therefrom is 1 to 500 μm. |
