A mask pulse signal generation unit generates a mask pulse signal having a pulse corresponding to a reset period of the pulse count signal. A logical operation unit performs an AND operation on the first pulse signal and the mask pulse signal. A pulse signal generation unit uses a signal output by the logical operation unit to generate a second pulse signal having substantially the same pulse width as that of the first pulse signal. The pulse rate of the second pulse signal is substantially the same as a frame rate of multimedia data to be reproduced in the display module.
