Disclosed are an annular optical buffer and an optical signal storage and reading method. The optical buffer comprises: a first bent straight-through waveguide, used as a transmission bus for an optical signal; multiple optical delay waveguide rings, used for buffering the optical signal; multiple pairs of optical switches, a quantity of which being the same as that of the multiple optical delay waveguide rings, and each pair of which being used for controlling ON and OFF of optical paths on two arms of the first bent straight-through waveguide and two sides of the optical delay waveguide rings corresponding to each pair of the optical switches; a beamsplitter, used for splitting part of optical signals input from an input end and sending the part of optical signals to a controller through a second bent straight-through waveguide; a slow-light effect waveguide, used for reducing the transmission rate of an optical signal transmitted in the slow-light effect waveguide; and the controller, used for controlling storage and reading of an optical signal. By using the annular optical buffer, single-chip integration of an optical buffer and random and nonsequential access of an optical signal can be implemented. |
