The present invention relates to a release film including a polyester film and a coating layer applied one or more times by a silicon release composition on at least one surface of the polyester film. The release composition comprises, with respect to 100 parts by weight of alkenyl polysiloxane, 2.5-5.0 parts by weight of hydrogen polysiloxane and 0.001-3 parts by weight of platinum-based chelate catalyst, wherein the alkenyl polysiloxane is a compound represented by a chemical formula 1, and the viscosity of 30 wt% of a toluene solution of the alkenyl polysiloxane is 1,000-8,000 mPa·s. The release film for a display device in accordance with the present invention is capable of improving quality defects caused by tearing phenomenon which may occur when separating an adhesive layer and a release film due to excellent substrate adhesion and detachment stability over time characteristics and maintaining peeling strength with a small change of the peeling strength over time.
