The present invention relates to a security system for a printer for common use with personal authentication, encryption, and decryption applied and a method for securing the printer for common use using the same. According to an aspect of the present invention, the security system for a printer for common use includes: a printer server (20) which is connected to a printer for common use (10) through a direct cable in order to perform data transmission and installs a personal authentication device (30); and an authentication device writer (40a) capable of data writing to a personal authentication system tag (40).
