PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable-compression-ratio engine capable of absorbing combustion impact and improving durability.SOLUTION: A variable-compression-ratio engine of the present invention comprises: a variable chamber housing coupled to a combustion chamber of the engine; a variable chamber piston provided movably in the variable chamber housing, forming a variable chamber communicating with the combustion chamber, a hydraulic chamber being formed by the variable chamber piston and the variable chamber housing, a leakage oil line being formed in the variable chamber piston so that oil leaking from the hydraulic chamber flows; a coupling shaft coupled to the variable chamber piston, an oil drain line being formed in the coupling shaft for discharging the oil in the leakage oil line to outside; an oil supply section supplying the oil to the hydraulic chamber; and a compression ratio controller coupled to the coupling shaft and controlling a position of the variable chamber piston.
