Disclosed is a highly reliable battery energy storage device, capable of significantly improving the lifespan of a battery by solving a cell imbalance problem without an extra cell balance circuit for a plurality of battery cells, and enabling stable and reliable charging/discharging driving. The highly reliable battery energy storage device includes a plurality of battery packs including a predetermined number of battery cells, connected with each other in series, and connected with each other in series; a bidirectional PWM inverter including a DC input/output terminal connected to the whole connection structure of the battery packs and an AC input/output terminal connected to AC power, converting DC power from the battery packs into AC power, and converting the AC power from the system into DC power; and a plurality of insulating type DC-DC converters including a first input/output terminal connected to the battery packs and a second input/output terminal connected to the bidirectional PWM inverter. The second input/output terminal of each of the insulating type DC-DC converters and the DC input/output terminal of the PWM inverter are connected with each other in parallel. |
