<p>Methods and assemblies are provided for use with an engine for preventing oil and gas production lines from freezing using a heat trace system. Glycol, for example, can be used to warm the production line and can be pumped from an engine into a pump and then out to a trace conduit. Once the glycol has passed through the trace conduit, and warmed the associated production line, it can be returned to the engine in a closed loop system. The pump can be actuated by an attached pump pulley. The pump pulley can be connected to a flywheel on the engine by a belt. Therefore, as the engine drives the rotating motion of the flywheel, the pump pulley rotates and activates the pump to pump glycol from the engine through the trace conduit and warms the production line before the glycol is returned to the engine.</p> |
