<p>A dental handpiece (P) has a head section (1), a neck section (2) , a grip section (3) connected to the grip section (2), a drive unit (4) connected to the grip section (3), and a detent pin (61) arranged axially slidably in the grip section (3), spring means (62) for biasing the pin (61) proximally so that the distal end of the pin (61) is arranged inside the grip section (3) in a rest position, and catch means (63) formed at the proximal end of the neck section (2) for receiving the pin (61) for engagement. When the drive unit (4) is brought into connection to the grip section (2), the pin (61) is pressed distally to project out of the grip section (2) into engagement in the catch means (63), to prevent relative rotation between the neck section (2) and the grip section (3).</p> |
