Disclosed is a method for detecting fake security media using a mobile terminal. The method for detecting fake security media using a mobile terminal according to an embodiment of the present invention includes: a step of setting a photographing condition; a step of acquiring images for security media through a camera under the set photographing condition; a step of deciphering serial number and denominations of the security media using the acquired images; a step of classifying the acquired images per security element; a step of first deciphering whether or not the security media are true through analysis of the images per classified security element; and a step of second deciphering whether or not the security media are true by integrating the first deciphering result per security element and data acquired from database.
