<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for moving a movable piece for a four shaft loom, capable of manufacturing the wide four shaft loom by allowing a movable piece to be replenished with moving force in the middle of a forward path or a return path, the movable piece having a threading hole for guiding a diagonal yarn, on its in-side. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided a device for moving a movable piece for a four shaft loom, in which: drum-shaped rotating bodies 5 and 5' having rotational axes 4 and 4' in parallel are provided so as to face each other in two turn paths 6T and 6T orthogonal to a forward path 6F and a return path 6B constituting an annular travel path 6 of a movable piece 2; and lead-out and lead-in points of a cum pin, and a cum groove helically extending from the lead-out and lead-in point to the lead-out and lead-in point on an opposing face side are provided on a peripheral surface between diameter-enlarged portions of each drum-shaped rotating body; and slanting paths 5d linking from the lead-out and lead-in point of the cum groove are provided on the outer peripheral surfaces of the diameter-enlarged portions of each drum-shaped rotating body; and helical cum projections 17 each capable of leading in and leading out the cum pin are formed on the middle of the forward path and the return path.
