The present invention discloses a standby power interception apparatus and a method. The standby power interception apparatus according to one aspect of the present invention includes: a signal receiving unit which receives a control signal transmitted from a control apparatus to an electronic apparatus; an apparatus connecting unit which includes at least one socket connecting the electronic apparatus; a power sensing unit which senses power of each of the sockets; a control unit which applies power to at least one socket as the control signal is received and performs a learning action of checking the socket consuming more power than critical power through the power sensing unit; and an information storing unit which maps a checked socket number and identifiable information of the electronic device included in the control signal and stores the same. |
