<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission/reception method having a high power saving effect. <P>SOLUTION: Transmission of upstream or downstream data in synchronization with transmission timing of downstream data of an OLT or upstream data of an ONU after reception of the upstream data in the ONU or after reception of the downstream data in the OLT is performed in the invention.
