<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grease composition which prevents the reduction of load efficiency of a control cable even if the durability number is increased. <P>SOLUTION: The grease composition for a control cable includes: 5-44 mass% of a thickener; 50-89 mass% of a silicone base oil; 1-20 mass% of a powder of a compound having a layer structure; and 5-30 mass% of a polytetrafluoroethylene powder. The silicone base oil has a kinetic viscosity of 50-900 mm<SP POS="POST">2</SP>/s at 25°C, and contains a low viscosity silicone oil having a kinetic viscosity of 1-300 mm<SP POS="POST">2</SP>/s at 25°C and a high viscosity silicone oil having a kinetic viscosity of 700-2,000 mm<SP POS="POST">2</SP>/s at 25°C, wherein the content of the high viscosity silicone oil is 40-90 mass% based on the total mass of the low viscosity silicone oil and the high viscosity silicone oil.
