The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for identifying a user in a multi-user wireless communication system. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the method for identifying a user comprises: a step of producing first identification information (SMID) by reflecting a masking ID on a group ID of a received signal; a step of producing second identification information (CGID) based on a corresponding relation of a possible group ID (PGU), which is delivered from a possible access point, and the produced SMID; and a step of deciding a user position based on the produced CGID.
