Provided are a method and an apparatus for managing energy of consumer electronics based on a power consumption pattern. The method for managing energy according to an embodiment of the present invention measures power of an apparatus, understands a state of the apparatus, gives a power level by calculating average power of the apparatus, and generates a table matching the state to the power level to control the state of the apparatus.
