A slot drain 10 comprises a channel 12; a throat 14, e.g. of galvanised steel, with two walls 18 extending up from the channel; and a drain grate 24, e.g. of ductile iron, with a grate 26 seatable on an upper edge 20 of the threat 14, and a body portion 28 extending from the grate 26 into the throat 14; wherein the drain grate 24 is of a harder material than the throat 14. The drain grate can be aligned on the throat via a key and keyway 48,50. Also claimed are a slot drain with a drain grate with raised edges 52 and slidable cover 58; a slot drain with a pivotable throat locator 74; and a slot drain with support foot 88. Also claimed is a method, comprising attaching a spacer plate 80 between walls 18, a retainer 82 extending through a throat wall 18; pivotably connecting a throat locator 74 to the throat; and engaging the throat locator 74 with the retainer 82 for enhanced locking effect. |
